Brazier of Commanding Fire Elementals 5e

October 29, 2023

Brazier of Commanding Fire Elementals 5e

Wondrous Item, rare

While a fire burns in this brass brazier, you can use an action to speak the brazier’s command word and summon a fire elemental, as if you had cast the conjure elemental spell. The brazier can’t be used this way again until the next dawn.

The brazier weighs 5 pounds.

Commentary by Sam West, Twitter: @CrierKobold

Sometimes you need a big, warm, cuddly buddy to make the darkness go away. While “cuddly” may not be a major component of a fire elemental, you can get the rest from this handy dandy little brazier that conjurers massive flaming beings to your side. Just make sure to maintain concentration, or face its wrath!

  • Fire Elementals summoned with Conjure Elemental have two unique abilities you can use alongside their pool of 102 hit points: Fire Form and their Touch attack.

    • Fire Form lets them squeeze through 1-inch spaces, and while it shares a hostile creature’s space, it can light them on fire for free bonus fire damage each round.

    • Their Touch attack also ignites things on hit, dealing a bonus d10 fire damage each round.

  • On top of their solid damage, they have a speed of fifty. These things are quick- best not to lose concentration or get run down by this whirling inferno.

  • These notably don’t have any other form of moment beyond their ground speed; they can’t fly, burrow, climb, or swim.
