Wondrous Item, very rare
This book describes fitness exercises, and its words are charged with magic. If you spend 48 hours over a period of 6 days or fewer studying the book's contents and practicing its guidelines, your Strength score increases by 2, as does your maximum for that score. The manual then loses its magic, but regains it in a century.

When I hear a “guaranteed to build muscle” program, my knee-jerk reaction is that I’m being scammed. Fortunately for fantasy characters, there is a proven, magical method to getting massive gains: a Manual of Gainful Exercise!
Normally a character can’t improve a score above 20; this increases that maximum to 22, even if it doesn’t increase the score above 20 when used.
Only one character can benefit from a Manual per century; multiple characters can’t study the book simultaneously to both gain its ability score improving effects.
48 hours divided over six days results in six eight-hour sessions daily at minimum, which can be doable while adventuring should you only need to be physically adventuring 8 hours a day.
