Censer of Controlling Air Elementals 5e

October 29, 2023

Censer of Controlling Air Elementals 5e

Wondrous Item, rare

While incense is burning in this censer, you can use an action to speak the censer's command word and summon an air elemental, as if you had cast the conjure elemental spell. The censer can't be used this way again until the next dawn.

This 6-inch-wide, 1-foot-high vessel resembles a chalice with a decorated lid. It weighs 1 pound.

Sometimes you’re looking for a soft, pillowy beefcake to beat up enemies for you. Censer of Controlling Air Elementals delivers in spades for getting you a once-per-day floaty body guard.

  • Be careful not to lose concentration on the spell, else the air elemental may decide to turn against its summoners.

  • Air Elementals summoned with this have a 90 ft. fly speed. These things zoom.

  • They also have a Whirlwind action that uses the Recharge mechanic- at the start of its turns, if it has used its ability with Recharge, it rolls a d6, regaining use of the feature if it rolls a number noted. On a 4, 5, or 6, the Air Elemental regains use of its Whirlwind ability.

  • The actual ability affects anything in its large space, up to four five-foot areas, dealing up to 3d8+2 damage and potentially flinging them all around the space.
