Potion of Growth 5e

August 16, 2023

Potion of Growth 5e

Adventuring gear (potion), uncommon

When you drink this potion, you gain the "enlarge" effect of the Enlarge/Reduce spell for 1d4 hours (no concentration required).

The red in the potion's liquid continuously expands from a tiny bead to color the clear liquid around it and then contracts. Shaking the bottle fails to interrupt this process.

If you want to grow to outrageous sizes, a Potion of Growth will help. Stack it with some other growth effect like the Path of Giant’s rage and you’ve got a recipe to become enormous!

  • Enlarge doubles the size of a creature, multiplies its weight by eight, increases their size by one category, grants advantage on Strength checks and saving throws, and enlarges the wielder’s weapons, improving their damage by 1d4 damage.

  • Gaining the enlarge effect of the Enlarge/Reduce spell isn’t the same as casting the spell, but does provide an effect that won’t stack on top of a cast Enlarge/Reduce spell.

  • If an unsuspecting creature drinks it, it simply gains the effects even if the effect isn’t something it wants, as you’re not casting the spell on the creature. It is simply gaining the effects of the enlarge portion, regardless to how it feels about that.

  • This potion also grows objects- holding big stuff to specifically grow it in size is a neat use this potion provides.
